Fellowship Groups
The fellowship groups have been organized to help encourage fellowship and spiritual growth in the congregation. They are utilized to help allow those with similar ages, interests and families to get together during bible study and often other events. There are no hard rules about age requirments for these groups. In fact, we encourage everyone to get involved with any group in which they feel most comfortable.
- Huddle Group (Families with 5th grade and under children) The Huddle Group is organized for those children and their families that have children in the 5th grade and under. - Youth (6th-12th grade) Our youth group is made up of 6th to 12th graders. The work is led by our youth minister, Brian Wakefield, who works hard to plan Bible classes, activities and trips that encourage spiritual growth. - College The College Ministry at Dalraida is aimed at those who are college-aged and those attending the area colleges and universities. There are several colleges in the Montgomery area and we try to gear the lessons to encourage and challenge the college group to grow in their faith at the same time they are growing in their education. - Young Professionals The Young Professionals is the transitional group between college and the Primetimers. It typically includes those who have graduated from college, young married couples, singles, and others who may not have children yet. The Young Professionals often have their own bible class and do many activities as a group but they also join the Primetimers group for classes and activities as well.
- Primetimers The Primetimers are primarily the young married couples, young families and with school-age children. There usually is overlap with the Young Professionals. This group usually enjoys bible study time together and plans activities during the year to encourge fellowship and spiritual growth.
- Baby Boomers The Baby Boomers group is comprised of those around the "baby boomer" generation age, loosely those born from 1946 until 1964. There is no specific age group though and there are many various age groups that are involved with the Baby Boomers. The leaders of the group help plan activities and events to help encourage fellowship and spiritual growth.
- Hilltoppers & Slver Threads The Hilltoppers and Silver Threads combined in recent years. This group is primarily comprised of those 55 and older members. This group remains very active and plan several events during the year to encourage fellowship and spiritual growth.
Fellowship?
- What is fellowship? The word Greek word translated as "fellowship" in the New Testament means association, joint, participation, partnership, sharing."
- Fellowship is Sharing And all who believed were together and had all things in common. And they were selling their possessions and belongings and distributing the proceeds to all, as any had need. (Acts 2:44-45)
-
Fellowship is Joint Participation
I thank my God in all my remembrance of you, always in every prayer of mine for you all making my prayer with joy, because of your partnership in the gospel from the first day until now.
(Philippians 1:3-5) -
Fellowship is with Christ Jesus?
God is faithful, by whom you were called into the fellowship of his Son, Jesus Christ our Lord.
(1 Cor. 1:9)
